Radiotherapy of metastatic bone tumors


Abstract
Radiation therapy continues to play a major role in the management of patients with metastatic bone tumors. Although the palliative roles of the radiation therapy for these patients are clearly valuable. These estimations are somewhat obscure.
Which led
the author to search for approaches that may deduce treatment results objectively by RTOG(Radiation Therapy Oncology Group) pain measure system.
Between October. 1991 and December, 1992, 22 patients were treated with palliative radiotherapy on metastatic bone tumors. After radiotherapy pain scores and narcotic scores were reduced to 26% and 33% level. Respectively.
